INSURANCE INFORMATION
I am pleased to be able to advise that our insurance policy and services package for the next financial year is now in place. There are a number of significant improvements and developments that I would like to share with you.
Last year some people received late notices so this year we are acting on insurance well before the due date. In addition to this we will be extending cover to all insured members until the 30 July so everyone has time to get their insurance in place.
Over the last 12 months many members have provided feedback and made suggestions as to how we can improve our insurance service. Firstly an increasing number of venues, particularly Government venues, are asking for a $20 million Public Liability cover. Over the next 12 months most Local Government halls and community centres are increasing their required Public Liability cover to a twenty million dollar requirement; many members have already advised that they will need this level of cover and there have been a number of court damages awards that have exceeded $10 million. Accordingly we have negotiated to double the coverage of our policy from ten million to twenty million dollars and we have done this with no increase from the premium you paid last year.
Effective immediately we have established a direct insurance information service any questions or information you need about your policy can be directed to: insurance@maia.com.au
In response to demand we now have an additional insurance policy that can be purchased by all AKWF members. This is a student accident policy that not only provides a range of benefits should one of your students be injured but it also has an income protection plan. This insurance plan not onl provides substantial promotional benefits for your club but also provides an income stream as you on sell the policy to your students at an average margin of $12 profit per student.
Both of these policies provide the highest cover and benefits at the lowest cost.
We will also be providing Insurance Information Meetings at the over listed times and locations
At these meetings we will provide a full outline of both our Public Liability/Professional Indemnity Policy as well as our new Student Accident/Income Protection Policy.
If you wish to attend one of these meetings please send a confirmation
If you wish to renew your existing policy please return the renewal form (we need a signed hard copy returned by post or a scanned signed copy returned by email) we will then confirm your policy cost -as indicated your premium will be no higher than what you paid last year but your level of cover has been doubled.
If you are currently uninsured or insured with another provider but would like a quote on our policies please email your request to insurance@maia.com.au (please ensure your name and membership number is included with your request).
My best regards
